Scent of the Day - Monday - 07/31/06

Anne Pliska for me today - What are you wearing?

The weather has finally cooled off here in California, yay! Twenty degrees cooler today that last week. We went to the fair yesterday and a concert last night and it was actually comfortable. Great news for all of California, the firefighters, the animals and the elderly. :O)

Hi Vic, so glad to hear the temps have cooled down, good news! You are smellin' grand, gal, but of course you already knew that :) It's M7 Fresh for me today. I love original M7 and this version, with some citrusy top notes added, is quite enjoyable too.
Have a great day!

Hello, V!
Happy to hear that the heat has abated somewhat, and that you enjoyed your weekend...

Today is L'Instant layered with Avignon-the cool incense feeds into the Guerlinade subtext- does that make any sense? Anyhoo, it becomes drier and more fascinating.

Enjoy, be well...

Hi Victoria~~~
I am wearing Loukhoum by Keiko Mecheri this perfume is amazing I love it..purchased a nice 5ml sample but now will have to get a real bottle of it..lol.
When I tried it the first notes I fell in love with I wanted it to stay there, and then it got such a strong heady scent for me and I was wondering if I could wear it seemed to hang in my throat..weird huh..but as it dried down ..wow..is all i can say.
Now as I wear it more I don't get the same reaction with it being too much or too heady...it just all flows now..I am addicted where can I get this at a good price?

Also wanted to say I have learned so much here reading all these posts...now I know what samples are for..lol..and don't waste my money experimenting....you ladies are so sophisticated in knowing your perfumes but I am learning and have always been a addict for perfume...thanks for leading my nose to new treasures!
We are having a HEAT WAVE here in New York where I live temps for the next 3 days of over 100 plus predicted I don't remember when temps have ever been that high here...Yuck is all I can say I dread it.

Deae Victoria,
Hi ! Today I revisted an old friend : Must De Cartier Eau de Toilette. I used to worship it in the 80's when I got married and made annual August treks to France ! It's is so sensual - reminds me of FM Musc Ravageur !! Anyway - it's a departure from Champica (Ormonde Jayne) and the sultry Hermes Jardin Sur le Nil I have been wearing mostly.
I went to Saks on Sat. discovered Rumeur by Lanvin ( very warm, sexy, musky ) and the delightful Guerlain L' Insolence ! I really bonded with the latter - L'insolence reminded me of the love at first sniff feeling I had with Dior's Dolce Vita ! It is alas only a matter of time before I succumb to its charms ! Keep cool - thinking of you and hoping to meet you soon - when you visit New York !

It cooled off here this weekend, too. And it's about time for us West Coasters, no? Hope you have a nice breeze, too. I really feel bad for the firefighters - my god, what a strenuous and dangerous element the heat waved added to an already dangerous job.

Going to try one of March's blind samples today!
