Hi Greeneyes, oy, Fracas and I do not agree. I like my tuberose ummm well ... less tuberosey. I find it quite lovely and captivating on others though. Maybe someday. Maybe in Parfum?
I'm wafting Lys Mediterranee all over the place today- a bit "in your face" with its sensuality, but I claim it as one of the priveleges of middle age...
Tell me, fair one, ought I to blow big bucks on the Chypre/Vanille?
Oh, V- I went on a sniffing rampage today, and wanted to give you a heads-up...
I rarely go gaga over new fragrances-but two words suffice:
CUIR AMETHYSTE
Oh, dear God. Worth the price tag.
I begged Sak's to send it from NYC [they only had a tiny tester, which I must have pretty much depleted], which they do FREE OF CHARGE...no shipping fee.
Violets, wood, leather, and other notes [I'll break the code, eventually...].
I had an instant attack of the vapors! So will you!
And a consummate lavender I've never smelled before- CARON- IMPACT for men[hah!]
Very, very subtly, there is a tinge of heliotrope, and I'm smelling the teeniest footfalls of amber in the drydown- and WHAT a drydown!!! Not to be believed- leaves others in the dust.
P.S. I'm so happy I could share the info with you- you're so generous with all your information.
Hi Chaya, so you are saying that SAKS in NYC has the Cuir Amethyst? I have been looking all over for it. I have looked and have had friends looking in FIVE countries!!!
But the Caron is available in Harvard Sq.- Colonial Drugs... ask for Cathy Bottindari. Phone # is 617-864-2222. They ship everywhere, and she'll send samples, if you like...

Hi Vic,
SL A La Nuit for me today.
Will you be reviewing the Montale? The word Vanilla has gotten my attention. :)
Dawn
Hi Miss Vic, it's Laura Biagiotti Roma for me today. I love the sparkling, bright opening, the warm, sweet ambery drydown.
Have a wonderful day!
Terry
Hello Victoria...Fracas today. :)
Hi Dawn, yes I plan to do a Chypre Vanille review soon. :O)
Hi Terry, I haven't tried that one, but I'm a sucker for an amber drydown. Sounds very nice!
Oh Christina, now I could go for a hit of nostalgia in parfum form, wow that sounds lovely!

I do so love both genres of fragrance...
Well Chaya, if you also love soapy, I would say go for the Chypre. But do try to find it in the smaller size.
