Stella - Tocca - Review

Ok, I have heard that some are disappointed with this release. And I too was expecting more of a rich, deep, blood orange scent. I have owned the luxurious cream for a couple of years now. It's one of my favorites. I have been anxiously awaiting this release of the matching EDP.

Blood orange scents smell a certain way, or at least I believe they do from those I have smelled. The orange note here, may disappoint because it is not what we blood orange lovers have come to expect. But rather it is more of a "regular" fresh orange scent. Not even orange zest from the rind, but smelling like a fresh orange once it has been peeled and ready to eat. Juicy and sweet. The lily comes on pretty strong right from the beginning, but it is a soft lily tempered by the freesia.

The musk is sheer and light and combines nicely with the sandalwood to create a soft sweet base that lingers. Not a ton of sillage here, this is a soft, delicate, feminine scent for those who prefer to be elegantly understated. Very pretty.

And of course the bottle is so nicely done. Just lovely, feeling weighty and classic.

Notes:
Blood orange, aquatic notes, lily, orchid, freesia, sandalwood, musk

Dear Victoria,
Stella sounds lovely. I adore orange scents, (love eating blood oranges/ Will check it sounds delicate and little faint . However, seeing is believing .Creme sounds great.
As I am travelling to Vegas in December - am nervous travelling with my precious toiletries. Do you know any scents that have a solid perfume ? I kmow Fracas , Hermes Rouge.
any others ?
Have a great day !

Lovely post, v-
Unfortunately, you said "aquatic"...

Madelyn, have you ordered any concretes from Aedes, the Molinard ones ?
For classic powdery oriental, i'd suggest Habanita; for a floral/chypre w/a touch of incense, I'd say Molinard de M.
If you're feeling tropical, try Isles or Nirmala-that is, if exotic fruit/flowers move you...
[Hope that helps !]

Chaya honey,
Where have you been ? I haven't seen you lately How is your scented self ? Thanks for the suggestions ? I used to wear (20 years ago) Habanita . I will check theses out before ny dec. 11 Vegas trip ( job related ). I am worried about my pocketbook contents - don't want to "lose" anything. I usually take makeup ,toothpasre, handcrenen, perfume etc.
See you soon. Have a big steany cuppa tea or coffe thinking of me !

Hi Vic,

Well..... if you want to swap, I'll swap you the Touch for your Stella.

I sampled it yesterday and when my husband got home, he smelled it on me and did not care for it on me at all.

Well, let me know.

Thanks,
Dawn

HI Madelyn, I think you should decant your lovlies and take them in travel size atomizers. YOu can fit many in a ziplock bag in your packed luggage and not a worry. Then you will alsoo have your touch up with you!

Hi Chaya, it is not very aquatic to me. Just a faint hint. I don't think I would have noticed it at all if I had not read the notes.
:O)

Hi Dawn, no my dear I really like this one. Did it sound in my review I didn't? It's pretty and feminine, but may need a touch up during the day, but that doesn't bother me.

The creme is DIVINE!!!

It sounds like I might be a little disappointed - I thought the shower gel and body cream were so lovely I even gave them out as Xmas presents last year. I liked that quality of richness and thickness of the blood orange in them too much to not miss it.

Yes Katie, probably so. Odd how different they are, when the creme was first. Still very nice, though. :O)

Victoria! This is my #1 all time favorite parfum and I have to tell you, you really hit the nail on the head with this review. So sad they discontinued it... :(
