Guerlain Insolence Launch Party

These photos from Getty Images show the June 14th, launch party for Insolence in Paris. Hilary Swank and Guerlain chairman Renato Semerari attended the Guerlain party as well as over 160 reporters.

The decorations were of mauve, silver and black, the colors of the falcon. Included in the dinner menu were ingredients of the fragrance: strawberries, cherries, raspberries, and violets.

Hilary stated that she had other offers to be spokesperson before but she declined because they were not right for her. She said if I am going to carefully choose acting roles, I must also be careful when considering a fragrance endorsement. But when Guerlain as her to represent Insolence, she didn't have to think about it. Her mom had worn Shalimar throughout her childhood and it pleased her very much to be associated with Guerlain. She said her mother was very pleased when she told her about the choice.

A HUGE thank you to Millie who helped me with the links and to find the story, thank you!

Hi Vic,

Interesting story. I wish she would do her own review on Insolence. Ya know? I would love to hear what she says about it. I know it would have to be glowing since she is the spokeswoman but still.....
Thanks for posting the story and the pics.

Here's to anoter muggy Wednesday.

These were really fun pictures, and the story was rather nice I think. Thank you for putting that all together V, it makes the scent sound much more interesting in a way. I know, weird of me, right?

No, I understand what you meant.

I think it's a good fragrance, and it will sell well. There will be those who will see it as a celebrity scent. Or write it off because it is pink. I'm anxious to see what the other bloggers will say.

I don't think having a celebrity attached to the fragrance is detrimental to it unless you're a total snob. It has worked for Chanel No. 5 with Nicole Kidman. If anything it will actually help people's awareness for it and if the fragrance itself is good that's all that matters. And although Hilary seems like an atypical choice for Guerlain, I'm sure it will work out fine. Those party pics at least look promising.

I hope you are right!

It would be great to know if these 'spokeswomen' actually really do use the stuff they endorse. There was a perfume Guerlain had a few years ago that I had smelled in a Vogue magazine and absolutely loved it. I'm sure this one is up to par too,

Hey Victoria,
I'm glad I was able to help you out there. I noticed you used the story of both the French and Spanish text. It's a good thing you can read both.:)

I personally think that the use of Swank as spokeswoman is a rather bold & inspired choice for them. I wonder what other offers she has gotten though.

Hi Purplecupcake! Nice to see you! I have a feeling from what I read, that she does really like this one, and that she will be wearing it. I think she integrity and as she said would not endorse anything that wasn't her style.

Hi Mille, thank you again! You are so sweet! Yes I used both the Spanish and the French story, translating both and trying the best I could to make some sense of them with the assistance of my computer.

At first I wasn't sure Hilary was the right choice, but now I'm beginning to see why they felt she was. You don't have to be astonishingly beautiful or perfect, it is more of something that comes within. And since we have not met her, we can't say. Hopefully they will be able to show us through the ads.
